Flight
Flight allows a Character or Adventurer with this attribute to choose to ignore Terrain effects (unless otherwise specified by the Terrain). Although card(s) with Flight can ignore most effects, it does not allow the Character or Adventurer with Flight to ignore effects that are granted to other cards by the Terrain.

The attribute of flight alone does not affect matters of combat (unless specified on a card in play); therefore Characters or Adventurers with this ability may be targeted normally.

I try to include everything that does effect or not effect Flying characters/adventurers right on the Terrain cards. This is an effect which causes damage from exposure to the cold. Flying characters/adventurers are not excluded as targets to the damage, so, they can be targeted.

Interesting catch!

However, if I understand DC correctly, he is saying that the glossary entry is loosely worded and simply means that some Terrain cards will specify that they do not affect Characters/Adventurers with Flight.

However, it would make sense for Adventurers with Flight to ignore Lava Pit and Crumbling Floor and Icy Ledges. But a few other cards would be more ambiguous such as Narrow Tunnel.

PS just noticed that the card name has a typo

It's always great to have additional constructive questions, then when it comes time for a revision we can better solidify our core rules. :)

Aclog has been a great help.

Hi,

this is a question that is valid for Lava Pit as well, if I lock a Terrain Card, does that prevent the effects from triggering for removal? E.g. if I lock Icy Ledges/Lava Pit on the turn it is due to leave play, do it's damage dealing effects kick-in given that the Lock token will still be on the Terrain at the point it leaves play?

Justin

The order of operations is that cards are removed from play before lock tokens are removed. The ability will not trigger.

And just to be more explicit, Icy Ledges (or Lava Pit) will still leave play, meaning that locking it effectively countered its ability.

This is a strategy I've been using to good effect for a long while.
